Slowroom Contemporary opened with an official launch in the summer of 2017 at a pop up event in Copenhagen.
The nomadic exhibition platform- and gallery has already executed three exhibitions in extension of the official launch, with artists such as Florian Hetz, Bruce LaBruce, Esteban Diácono, Lolita Pelegrime and Ene Bissenbakker.
The vision of Slowroom Contemporary is to embrace emerging artists within a wide range of mediums, give them a platform to showcase their work and build a bridge between them and the established contemporary art scene with group and solo exhibitions. We aim to unfold ideas, artistic research and execute exhibitions that thrills, wonders and strengthens the relations between the art and the audience.
Behind the project is photographer and curator, Pete Lamberto, who has a background from the film- and fashion industry in Copenhagen and London. Lamberto has since 2010 been working with photography within the boarders of portraiture, documentation and fine art, and has exhibited his work in Europe at galleries and art festivals such at Copenhagen Photo Festival. Lastly, Lamberto became board member of the curatorial team, FSK Copenhagen.
Second seat is taken by graphic designer, Casper Svendsen. His back-catalogue consists of work within Visual Communication and Marketing and has, among many things, developed the visual identity for FSK Copenhagen.
